If you have visited here before, you can probably see that I have changed the name of the blog again. I started blogging at 4URuthie to tell the story of our journey to adopt our 1st daughter. I changed it to Mountains for Maggie when we were praying for God to move mountains on behalf of our 2nd daughter. Well now it is no longer just Ruthie’s or Maggie’s stories. It is now our family's story, and the stories of those we share life with, as we Conquer Mountains together. Both ConqueringMountains.net and 4URuthie.blogspot will lead here.

When Misfortune Turns to Blessing Part 2

The first part of this story can be found  Here

To pick up where I left off- I was down at the beach with the kids and after 2 hours went back to the room to look for my husband.  He was STILL on the phone with bookit.com.  We decided to go to dinner and let them call us when they had a solution.  At the end of dinner they called with a proposal for us to move to a hotel a few doors down that was comparable and said that they were going to give us $300 back for the lost first day.

I was nervous about the transfer because you never know what you are going to get in Mexico but we decided to go for it.

And I was sure glad we did because this was the children's area at the new hotel.  Not only was this much better, but so was the food and the ocean view suite they gave us.

We were walking around the hotel that night and this thought came clearly to me

GOD CAN TURN OUR PERCEIVED MISFORTUNE INTO INCREDIBLE BLESSING

And I so needed that message at that moment.  You see, I was still wrapping up my pity party from hearing the week before that Jack's condition was non-operable.   The situation with the hotels was such a great reminder that God sees the entire picture and His plan is so much greater than what we can see immediately in front of us.

The hotel we ended up at is called the Great Parnassus and we would have never looked at it because it was out of our price range, but through this crisis we were given the opportunity to stay there and it was incredible.  I would recommend that place to anyone.

Here are some more pictures from the pool area.  Also we have had more developments on Jack since returning home that I will catch you up on in a few days.  I am glad we already got our vacation in because it is going to be a crazy fall for the Hendersons.
