If you have visited here before, you can probably see that I have changed the name of the blog again. I started blogging at 4URuthie to tell the story of our journey to adopt our 1st daughter. I changed it to Mountains for Maggie when we were praying for God to move mountains on behalf of our 2nd daughter. Well now it is no longer just Ruthie’s or Maggie’s stories. It is now our family's story, and the stories of those we share life with, as we Conquer Mountains together. Both ConqueringMountains.net and 4URuthie.blogspot will lead here.

Milestones

All kids reach milestones.  They get teeth, lose teeth, learn to walk, go to Kindergarten and ....

...after months of practice and strategy, they learn to climb the door frame.  Oh yes this has been a very big deal in our house this week.

The PT in me cringes when I see the position of his left leg, but I am setting that aside to cheer with my boy and his new skill.

The final goal was to touch his head to the top of the door frame.  Mission accomplished.

It's when ordinary people rise above the expectations and seize the opportunity that milestones truly are reached.

Ahk! This is what I have to look forward to! Or it is already happening... Ian shimmied up the column in our house and touched the ceiling! And he can climb up one side of the door frame, actually... his legs aren't long enough to do it quite like Sam.
