If you have visited here before, you can probably see that I have changed the name of the blog again. I started blogging at 4URuthie to tell the story of our journey to adopt our 1st daughter. I changed it to Mountains for Maggie when we were praying for God to move mountains on behalf of our 2nd daughter. Well now it is no longer just Ruthie’s or Maggie’s stories. It is now our family's story, and the stories of those we share life with, as we Conquer Mountains together. Both ConqueringMountains.net and 4URuthie.blogspot will lead here.

Black and White Wednesday- Jack's Baptism

the long road

My oldest son, Jack, was baptized by his father last Sunday.

That picture was taken right after I told him that he wasn't allowed to do a cannonball into the water.

We believe in believer's baptism which means that Jack wasn't baptized until he made the decision to follow Christ on his own.

He made that decision when he was 6, but we wanted to wait until he was older to be baptized so he would remember the experience.

It was a very sweet moment at church on Sunday and super special for Trent to get to be the one to baptize him.

It doesn't get much better than that right there.

Beautiful -- what a special moment for your family. I felt the same way when my father officiated our wedding as well as my two sisters' weddings. What a special privilege children of pastors have.
