If you have visited here before, you can probably see that I have changed the name of the blog again. I started blogging at 4URuthie to tell the story of our journey to adopt our 1st daughter. I changed it to Mountains for Maggie when we were praying for God to move mountains on behalf of our 2nd daughter. Well now it is no longer just Ruthie’s or Maggie’s stories. It is now our family's story, and the stories of those we share life with, as we Conquer Mountains together. Both ConqueringMountains.net and 4URuthie.blogspot will lead here.

Sunday Snapshot- When Misfortune Turns to Blessing Part 1

Ni Hao Y'all

Our family spent this week in Cancun and boy was it an experience.  You see there are two kinds of vacations- there are the ones you make the most of and then there are the ones you don't want to leave.
It is going to take me 2 blogs to tell you this story and share the pictures.

So basically a few months ago I found this deal with bookit.com for this great family hotel in Cancun with all kinds of kids areas.  Trent and I had the frequent flyer miles to get there so we decided to go for it.  I spent the week before the trip pumping the kids up by showing them online videos and pictures of all the things this place had to offer.  Bad idea.

When we checked in, we were handed a piece of paper that basically said their children's areas were closed for 2 weeks for maintenance?  WHAT? All I could think was how I had flown my family to another country to experience this wonderful hotel and now we would be stuck there with very little to do because let's be real, who wants to explore Mexico with 3 small children these days?  I was also frustrated because no one had mentioned this to us which was clearly false advertising to me.

I decided to take the kids down to the beach to play and let Trent get on the phone with bookit.com for 2 hours to work this out.

You won't believe what happened next!  I will share that part on Thursday.

In the meantime, my Sunday snapshot is of pictures from a feature in the Dallas airport and from that first trip to the beach.
