If you have visited here before, you can probably see that I have changed the name of the blog again. I started blogging at 4URuthie to tell the story of our journey to adopt our 1st daughter. I changed it to Mountains for Maggie when we were praying for God to move mountains on behalf of our 2nd daughter. Well now it is no longer just Ruthie’s or Maggie’s stories. It is now our family's story, and the stories of those we share life with, as we Conquer Mountains together. Both ConqueringMountains.net and 4URuthie.blogspot will lead here.

Jack On The Weather Channel

Okay so I have been struggling over if it is right to ask you to pray for something so non-life threatening with us, but even if it isn't life threatening, it is life changing for my oldest little guy. If you follow this blog, you know that Jack LOVES the Weather Channel. If you don't believe me, here is a picture of him dressed as a weather man for Halloween a few years ago and then beaming after a trip to the National Weather Service this summer.

So when the Weather Channel advertised that they were having a contest that if you win they will bring snow to your house on Christmas, Jack was hooked.  This child never asks for anything, so how could I say no and I have to admit that the idea of having some money to pay off his medical bills and maybe take the family somewhere was tempting too.  Sam and Ruthie just kept saying that they wanted snow.  I used that as our plot (except for the medical bill part because that is depressing) and then made Jack's video.

The really cool part is that they used our video to make a commercial advertising the contest.  That by no means suggests that we won.  They used a couple other videos too and there are a lot of good ones.  This would mean the world to Jack to have the Weather Channel come to his house to film.

So pray, hope with us, cross your fingers, watch the video and comment on the Weather Channel website or whatever.  They will call the top 3 finalists on Friday so we should know something soon.
