If you have visited here before, you can probably see that I have changed the name of the blog again. I started blogging at 4URuthie to tell the story of our journey to adopt our 1st daughter. I changed it to Mountains for Maggie when we were praying for God to move mountains on behalf of our 2nd daughter. Well now it is no longer just Ruthie’s or Maggie’s stories. It is now our family's story, and the stories of those we share life with, as we Conquer Mountains together. Both ConqueringMountains.net and 4URuthie.blogspot will lead here.

Jackaroo- A Year in Review

One of the main reasons I blog is so I can print a book from here each year that preserves our family memories, what God has taught us, and where we have been.  In order to make that complete, I am going to write an entry on each of my children between now and the end of the year.

Jack, you get to go first.

My thoughtful, faithful, and loving son...

When you grow up, you want to be-  a meteorologist or a marine biologist because you are so interested in the weather and ocean life
What I think you will be when you grow up- a missionary or a teacher because you love to serve and direct others.

How will I recognize you in heaven?  You will be standing at the front gates offering to help show people around.
Your strengths- Your heart to serve others, your desire to do the right thing, and your love for your family
Your weaknesses- You have a hard time seeing the big picture sometimes

Highlights and memorable moments of your year- Seeing the shuttle launch with your dad, family camp,  diving with sharks in Mexico, back surgery, and entering the contest at the Weather Channel.

What I see God teaching you?  I believe that God is developing in you a heart that loves to serve others.  I also see him teaching you patience with your siblings.

Your interests and hobbies-  Other than the weather and marine life, you have developed an interest in music this year.  You are doing very well in piano, have picked up the guitar, and drum to every song you hear.  I hope your love for this continues because you have real talent in this area.

Jack I love you so much and am very proud of the kind of young man you are turning out to be.

Ginny, your posts and your whole blog are just beautiful! Quick question: what site do you use to create a book from your blog? I really want to do the same thing, but I'm having a hard time finding one (my hunch is that the videos embedded in our blog make it tough). Any ideas?

I use Blog2Print. It is great because they do it all for you.

Ginny, I just love to read what you write. What an incredible boy Jack is! We're still praying over here about "the Weather thingy"!
