If you have visited here before, you can probably see that I have changed the name of the blog again. I started blogging at 4URuthie to tell the story of our journey to adopt our 1st daughter. I changed it to Mountains for Maggie when we were praying for God to move mountains on behalf of our 2nd daughter. Well now it is no longer just Ruthie’s or Maggie’s stories. It is now our family's story, and the stories of those we share life with, as we Conquer Mountains together. Both ConqueringMountains.net and 4URuthie.blogspot will lead here.

You Were Right!

When we had been waiting for what felt like forever, you told me that once Ruthie got here, that time would seem like forever ago. Well, she has been here for 2 weeks and it feels like we have had her for months. I hope that offers some speck of encouragement to those of you who are still waiting. What they say is true.

Ruthie is continuing to adjust beautifully. I am amazed at how quickly she has gotten comfortable with her surroundings. I had prepared myself for months of having her connected to my side, but she isn't like that at all. Sunday she followed Sam into his Sunday school class and wanted to stay and play. Tonight she ran through the cul-de-sac with the neighborhood kids like she has known them for years. It is really great to see.

I am headed to Texarkana tomorrow to introduce Ruthie to some of the extended family. From there, we will go to Waco for the weekend to see friends. I am not sure if I will have time to blog while I am gone, but I am sure I will have lots of pictures to post when we return.

Have a great week.

I just love to hear how well Ruthie is adjusting to her new home...she was always meant to be there, and it's wonderful to know she is blooming more and more each day!!

Your words are an encouragement. Waiting is the hardest part. Especially when you already know who your daughter is and where she is...you just want to be on the next plane to bring her home!! We are in the midst of preparing our dossier, so it will be some time yet. We know it can take quite awhile to process, but we are praying for the Lord's favor and hand at work, praying that she could be here in time for Christmas...but for sure before her 2nd birthday. She just turned 18 mos. this past Saturday, so we know it will be close. God will see us through in His perfect timing though...as we know, he already knows WHEN that is!! <><

Blessings and Hugs,
~Tanya

It's an amazing thing isn't it? Just like birthing a baby...those birthing pains seem to just be forgotten once that babe is in your arms.

So happy Ruthie is in your arms!

Have fun on your trip!

Blessings,
Jenn

Tanya,

Encouragement to you from Ruthie's dad: I remember the hair-pulling insanity that is waiting, even the temptation to just buy a plane ticket and go over there with my nose pressed against the orphanage glass.

As Ginny said, though, it seems like she's been with us for months now. The waiting is no fun, but the prize is worth the wait. Hang in there.

Sincerely,
Ruthie's Dad

Isn't it just so wonderful once you finally get them HOME. Ruthie is a cutie and can't wait to see her in person. Just spent last weekend with Elijah. What a Blessing adopting is for everyone involved. Just brings tears to my eyes remembering all the praying and waiting for both Ruthie and Eli and how like Trent said the PRIZE is so worth the wait. See y'all in a couple of weeks. Love to All

Oh, I couldn't be more thrilled than if it were all happening to me! I hope you will drop into Highland while you're in Waco. I know that's the only way I'll get to see you and meet Ruthie. Are you going to come on Sunday?

Its so wonderful to see Ruthie coming out of her shell and developing her little personality. What fun.
